Trails

Our network of trails at Nectandra Garden weaves through both secondary and primary forests along loop trails of varying length and walking difficulty to challenge visitors of all ages and physical abilities. In contrast Persea trails are more level, winding through open woods and young forest.

Visitor Centers

The Preserve has facilities at each of the two gardens to display botanical, art, and scientific exhibits. A small number of changing exhibits highlight the basic and current scientific information on various aspects of the ecology and life forms of the cloud forest.

Both the Nectandra and Persea Cafés feature seasonal fruits and vegetables to capture the diversity of fresh ingredients from the local growers. We strive for creative cuisine to celebrate Costa Rican ingredients, to gratify the taste buds through the senses and to revitalize the link between gastronomy and Mother Nature.
